Every journey has a beginning.

A starting point. One origin. The starting point of our journey is about 6,500 kilometers south of Switzerland, in the east of Africa, in Kenya. A country with a wonderful climate, a beautiful landscape, an impressive wildlife, a fantastic culture and colorful tradition, and where coffee and tea are the most important export products.

 

Are you a tea lover?

We leave Nairobi for the northwest, into the highlands of the Rift Valley, about 2,500 meters above sea level, where we discover rolling hills with extensive tea plantations. We reach Kericho, where tea is known for its brightness, attractive color, strong flavor and textures of fragrant leaves.

 

The regions where the tea grows are blessed with an ideal climate: tropical volcanic red soil, perfectly distributed rainy periods with equally long sunny days. These perfect conditions made it possible to start selling tea in 1924 and to make Kenya one of the largest producers of black tea. The green, white and purple teas are also exclusive, high quality highland teas from Kenya in the best leaf quality with a full-bodied, spicy character. 

Kenya is now in third place, just behind China and India.

 

Are you a coffee lover?

We leave Nairobi for the northeast, to the western foothills of Mount Kenya and the eastern end of the Rift Valley. To Nyeri, where the coffee is known for its fantastic aroma, thanks to the combination of the red volcanic soil, the different altitudes and the ideal climate.

 

Coffee from Kenya, what more could we want? Kenya produces delicious coffee.

Most of the Kenyan coffee grows at altitudes from 1500 to 2100 meters. The coffee quality is very good! The main coffee regions in Kenya are: Nyeri area, Murang'a, Kirinyaga, Embu and Meru and are located around the high Mount Kenya, Kiambu and Machakos in the south and Nakuru in the west.

The coffee is full-bodied but with a mild and mellow taste and has a fragrant aroma. The taste is fruity, somewhat citrusy with a pleasant core, sometimes vinous. The coffee has a good aftertaste.
