Robusta

 

Robusta coffee plants grow at lower altitudes. As the plant is exposed to more insects and diseases here, it produces more antibodies in the form of caffeine. This higher caffeine content is reflected in the taste of the coffee beans. Robusta beans are characterized by a stronger aroma and an intense taste. The main producers of Robusta coffee are the countries around the equator, with lower lying areas. In East Africa, India, Indonesia and also in Brazil, the altitude and the climate are suitable for growing coffee.
